Who Should Submit

Satin Ire accepts submissions from any and all artists. We encourage submissions from new, emerging, and unpublished artists. We would love to be trusted with your work!

When to Submit

Submissions are accepted during open submission and contest periods, announced regularly.

What to Submit

Satin Ire accepts previously unpublished original works of poetry, flash and short fiction, creative non-fiction, and visual art (digital, painting, illustration, photography). We encourage photographic accounts of all physical art mediums, such as fashion design and sculptures.

submission Guidelines

All Submissions

Label your file with your submission category, title of your work, and word count for prose or number of pieces for poetry and visual art. Ex: “Poetry Title of Work 3” For submissions with multiple titles (poetry, visual art) use the title of the first piece. 

Please do not include your name anywhere in your uploaded file to allow for anonymity during the review period.

Please include a short (3-5 sentences) author/artist bio with your name and something about your art. This can be anything: a bit about your piece, how it connects to the theme, your inspiration or passions in the arts, or anything else you want to tell us about your art!

Simultaneous submissions are accepted, please inform us via email if your work is accepted by another publication. We do not accept AI generated works. 

Poetry: 

Please include up to 5 poems, in a single .docx format in Times New Roman 12 pt font. Ensure that each poem is clearly titled and begins on its own page. If you are concerned about formatting you may also include a second file as a PDF to ensure your pieces maintain their intended formatting.

Flash Fiction: 

Please submit flash fiction or prose, up to 1,000 words, as a .docx in Times New Roman 12 pt font, double spaced.

Short fiction: 

Fiction between 1,000 to 5,000 words should be submitted as a short fiction piece. Please include these submissions as a .docx in Times New Roman 12 pt font, double spaced.

Creative Non-Fiction: 

Please include submissions of creative non-fiction/essays up to 5,000 words as a .docx in Times New Roman 12 pt font, double spaced.

Visual Art: 

Please include up to 5 pieces of any visual art submissions (digital, illustration and paintings, photography, photographic accounts of any physical medium such as fashion and sculptures). Submit your visual art as high resolution JPEG or PNG’s.
